Croatia Launches €257 Million Tender for Renewable Energy Projects

The Croatian Energy Market Operator (HROTE) has launched a tender worth €257.2 million to support renewable energy projects, focusing on solar, wind, and hydropower plants.

HROTE has announced a public tender to award market premiums for the production of electricity from renewable sources, allocating €257.2 million to support solar, wind, and hydropower projects. The tender is open until June 27, 2024.

The objective is to grant operating subsidies to promote renewable energy production, enhancing economic activities, the energy sector, and environmental protection.

Subsidy Measures:

  1. Measure One:
    • For plants with an installed capacity of over one megawatt.
    • Covers wind power plants, solar power plants, and hydropower plants up to 10 MW.
  2. Measure Two:
    • For plants with an installed capacity between 200 kW and one megawatt.
    • For plants with an installed capacity between 200 kW and six MW if 100% owned by small and medium-sized enterprises or renewable energy communities.
    • For wind farms with an installed capacity between 200 kW and 18 MW if 100% owned by micro or small enterprises or renewable energy communities.

Subsidy Quotas:

  • Total Quota: 607.25 MW
  • Measure One: 417.25 MW (Wind: 60 MW, Solar: 350 MW, Hydro: 7.25 MW)
  • Measure Two: 190 MW (Wind: 90 MW, Solar: 100 MW)

This initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy in Croatia, fostering sustainability and energy independence.
