Lightsource bp, a leading solar energy developer, has commenced construction on the "Enipeas" photovoltaic park in Greece. This project, set to become one of Europe's largest solar power plants, will boast 970,000 photovoltaic panels and generate enough electricity to power 225,000 households annually.

The 560 MWp park, located in the Larissa and Fthiotida regions, is being co-financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU fund. Ameresco Sunel Energy, a joint venture between Ameresco and Sunel Group, has been entrusted with the construction, which is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months.

Upon completion, Enipeas is projected to produce 0.90 TWh of electricity per year, significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Additionally, the project will contribute to the local economy by creating jobs and boosting demand for local goods and services. Ameresco Sunel Energy has already demonstrated its commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates by engaging numerous local contractors and service providers.
