Türkiye and China have entered into a collaborative agreement to focus on AI research in healthcare and agriculture. This partnership, led by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBITAK) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), will fund joint projects in three critical areas: cancer immunotherapy, MRI technology advancements, and sustainable agriculture. With funding up to $79,000 for Turkish researchers and up to $79,000 for Chinese counterparts, these initiatives aim to improve both countries' healthcare systems and contribute to the global sustainability agenda.
In the realm of cancer treatment, the collaboration will harness AI and big data to enhance drug development, including vaccines and antibodies designed to prevent cancer growth and improve immune system functionality. A second focus will be on advancing MRI technologies and other imaging techniques, leveraging AI to refine diagnostic capabilities. The ultimate goal of these joint efforts is to provide more effective medical tools for cancer detection and treatment.
The third area of cooperation targets sustainable agricultural practices, where the partnership aligns with the EU's Green Deal goals. By combining efforts from both nations, the collaboration seeks to address critical challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and food security. This partnership sets the stage for significant global contributions, particularly in making food systems more sustainable while advancing healthcare solutions through AI.
