Vodafone Group to Establish New European Logistics Hub in Luxembourg

Vodafone Group, the UK-based telecommunications giant, has announced plans to develop a major European logistics hub in Bettembourg, Luxembourg. This new multimillion-euro facility, set to open in 2026, will help centralize and streamline the company’s supply chain operations across the continent.

Currently, Vodafone manages logistics in each country where it operates, but this new hub marks a significant shift in strategy. The facility will allow Vodafone to increase efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance its European distribution network. Luka Mucic, Vodafone’s Chief Financial Officer, highlighted the importance of the project, stating: “The creation of a new pan-European logistics hub in Luxembourg is in line with our strategy to simplify the way we run Vodafone and our commitment to being as cost-efficient as possible in our operations and supply chain.”

Bettembourg was chosen for its strategic location. Situated just south of Luxembourg City, it is a major logistics center in the Greater Region, boasting excellent road and rail connections to France, Germany, and beyond. The site also features access to a multimodal freight terminal and a high-tech logistics park, providing fast links across Europe, from Turkey to Scandinavia.

The 26,000-square-meter facility, developed by MG Real Estate, will join hundreds of other businesses in the area, capitalizing on its prime logistical advantages. Vodafone’s new hub is expected to create over 30 direct jobs, with additional employment opportunities likely through partnerships with local logistics providers.

Luxembourg’s Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot, welcomed Vodafone’s investment, calling it a clear sign of confidence in the country’s role as a leading European logistics hub. He added, “The increased presence of a leader in technology communication, such as Vodafone, strengthens and diversifies the sectors of high value-added logistics and industry.”
