Ferrari, the iconic Italian luxury carmaker, is set to electrify its lineup with its first fully electric vehicle, priced at a minimum of €500,000. This move is accompanied by the inauguration of a new production plant in Maranello, which will significantly boost production capacity while maintaining the brand's exclusivity. Despite the high price tag, Ferrari aims to preserve its elite status and cater to the growing demand for its vehicles. The company's electric ambitions extend beyond this initial model, with a second EV already in development and plans to have 60% of its offerings as electric or hybrid by 2026. Ferrari is also focusing on developing unique "sound signatures" for its electric vehicles to maintain the emotional connection with its customers.

According to Euronews, Ferrari's new plant aims to increase production to around 20,000 vehicles annually. This increase would be accompanied by an expansion of model offerings, ensuring that the production of specific cars remains limited. The facility, slated to be operational within a few months, will produce petrol, hybrid, and electric vehicles.

To maintain the emotional connection with its clientele, Ferrari's engineers are developing unique "sound signatures" for their electric vehicles, reminiscent of the brand's renowned combustion engine roar.
