Lidl, the renowned retail giant, commenced construction of its inaugural logistics and distribution center in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in Lepenica, Kiseljak. This ambitious project represents the company's largest investment in the country to date, exceeding €100 million, and is expected to generate over 200 new jobs in the long term.

The sprawling 250,000 m² facility will boast a 60,000 m² storage capacity and will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, automation systems, and logistics equipment to streamline large-scale operations. Lidl's general director for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Toljan Papajorgji, emphasised the project's pivotal role in the company's expansion into the Bosnian market, leveraging its global expertise.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by dignitaries from political, business, and diplomatic circles, including the German Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Thomas Fitschen, Head of the Cooperation Sector in the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Antonella Di Sandri, and the Mayor of Kiseljak Municipality, B.Sc. Mladen Mišurić-Ramljak.

Lidl's investment in Kiseljak signifies a major step in the company's commitment to the Bosnian market, complementing its existing facility in Bijeljina and ongoing construction projects in Sarajevo and other cities throughout the country.
