Stadler's Valencia plant has been chosen to manufacture all 504 trams for a major European rail project, ensuring job stability for its 2,200 workers for the next nine years. This landmark contract, the largest ever awarded to the Stadler Group and one of the biggest rail tenders in Europe, includes manufacturing and maintaining the vehicles at the Valencia plant.

The order, valued at approximately 4 billion euros, encompasses an initial 246 Citylink trains, with the option for an additional 258 units. This model, designed in Valencia and currently operating between Alicante, Benidorm, and Dénia, serves as the foundation for this latest generation of trams.

The Valencian government's multi-year incentive plan, offering 45 million euros in aid until 2033, played a crucial role in securing Stadler's commitment to the region. President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, emphasized the importance of this investment, highlighting the local talent, manufacturing, and technology that will contribute to the project's success.

Stadler Valencia, already a major employer in the region with around 2,200 direct and 6,000 indirect jobs, has been expanding its presence in the Valencian Community. In addition to its main factory in Albuixech, the company has recently established a new factory in La Vall d'Uixó and a logistics center in Sagunt.

This latest contract further solidifies Stadler's position as a leading player in the European rail industry. The company's commitment to the Valencia plant demonstrates the region's growing importance as a hub for advanced manufacturing and technological innovation in the rail sector.
